Date of Project: Dec 2015- Present
Problem: The University lacked brand cohesion, brand standards, a unified approach to marketing initiatives and a clear voice. In addition, the website was a cobbled and ineffective tool to recruit students.
Project: Implement a 360* review of the organizational functionality and presented a twelve-point assessment to build stability. Create brand standards manual and articulation, assist the re-organization and refinement of staff roles, created strategies for enrollment/lead generation, developed advancement tactics, and developed marketing collateral.
Results: The University now has a brand they are consistent and proud of. They have a new website which is best in class for a school this size that is easy to update and is stable. The President’s Cabinet has the right members and student retention increased by 26% our first year with them because the messaging from the school was clear and consistent attracting the right students. End product included: a comprehensive executive assessment, website, viewbook, brochures and brand standards manual.
“Integrity has two meanings. The first means to present something in its entirety. Many marketing firms will write a story and then put you in it. While often serviceable, this isn’t usually very compelling. That’s not surprising, really, because an incomplete story isn’t much of a story. Dave Grout and the Timberline Team didn’t show up with a story; they took the time to learn ours. Once they really understood it, they helped us better show how compelling it is. I believe this approach reflects the other meaning of integrity, which refers to one’s moral or ethical compass. Your organization’s story is too valuable to be handed over to someone you don’t trust. Dave has demonstrated his own strength of character time and again, and he has held the other members of his team to that same level of accountability. I trust Dave, and I don’t think there is any better endorsement I can give than that.
